Glossary Words
Upon reading a draft of Scott H. Gloodt’s I'll Take the 18: The Story of Beech 18 Freight Flying, I enjoyed how accessible Scott made both the local freight flying industry and the Beech 18 aircraft, things likely unfamiliar to most readers. Still, I felt that more could be done to explain some specific airplane parts and insider terms in the freight flying community.
To this end, I suggested including a glossary. When Scott agreed, I compiled a list of words and phrases that could populate such a list. I also aided in the formatting of the glossary.
I am including the text of a report that I sent to Scott on this topic:

Here is my list for the glossary. The formatting isn’t what’s important here, since I can do that easily. (The completed list would be alphabetized, for starters.)
I recommend concise definitions—one or two sentences each when possible. If you have a good definition already in the text, I would use it again. Logic may dictate putting some of these together, and if you think one isn’t needed, skip it. For airplane parts, be sure to indicate where it can be found. For each acronym, I would spell the whole name out in parentheses.
