This is another client letter I worked on for Your Home Team Brokers from January 2018. Here, I show the steps we took from receiving a first draft of the letter to delivering the finished product.
January 2018 Client Letter: (Clients’ First Draft)
Greetings Family, Friends & Neighbors!
There are lots of surprises in life. Some delight us & make us happy. Other surprises discourage & frighten us making it difficult to adjust & continue.
Some years ago, one of our Clients called & asked if we could meet with her. We agreed. At the time, she lived alone in her large townhome with family nearby. When we sat down with her, we discovered that her range of movement had changed so that she could not climb to her Master Bedroom & Bath on the 2nd floor. She basically was confined to the dining room area near the kitchen with piles of clothing & personal items stacked around the room. She didn't think about it much, she told us, but one day a friend surprised her with this question, "Why do you live like this?" was the friend's surprise question."Call Bonnie & Gordon", her friend suggested "so you can move on with your life"! We helped her get organized & sell her townhome so she could move into an extended care facility with hot meals, friends to be with & care when she needs it.
In our Real Estate business, this is a familiar story. The Surprises of life sometimes immobilize & overwhelm us. We don't know what to do. But there are options & help in every situation. January 2018 Client Letter (Proposed Draft)

2018 is here! As we begin a new year, we want to share a delightful story from 2017.
To be honest, fate—and a little luck—introduced us to this family. One day, we were keeping an unrelated appointment when a young woman approached us and asked us if we sold real estate. We said yes, and we’ve been friends ever since!
As it turned out, this young family had a dream that 2017 was going to be the year to move into a new home. The couple were living in a crowded townhouse with two small children. Mom needed a larger, more modern kitchen, Dad wanted a private office where he could make his business phone calls without kids climbing on his desk, and the kids wanted their own room where their brother or sister had to stay out when the door was closed!
In 2017, this family—and other families just like them—taught us how rewarding our business can be. The joy we felt helping that young family move into a lovely single-family home just could not be measured. We’ve been back to the new home for birthdays and special occasions, and we’re always so grateful that we were able to be a part of it.
